When the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix began in 1978, the world was still analog. A cassette player called the Walkman was just becoming popular. A lot has changed since then. Tennis prodigy Tracy Austin won her first four tournaments at first attempt. Stefanie Graf made her breakthrough in 1982 at the age of 13. She reached the final for the popular trophy.
